Workload Sustainability

Workload and work-life balance at Huntress starts with clarity and realistic expectations, not “always on” heroics. Managers are expected to set clear expectations and keep a steady feedback loop so you know what “done” looks like, what the priorities are, and where to focus your time—at a minimum through monthly documented 1:1s (“Always Aligned”) in Lattice.

Because we’re remote, we’re intentional about how we work across time zones. Our remote-work model is designed to give “tremendous flexibility in where and when you work,” while still aligning around core collaboration hours (generally 9:00–3:00 in the time zone you’re hired in). We also set the expectation that being a global team may sometimes require work outside core hours for essential collaboration, and we try to do that reasonably (including being thoughtful about scheduling across time zones).

Time away is treated as part of doing great work. Huntress publicly highlights PTO and other leave (including vacation, sick time, bereavement leave, floating holidays, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave).

Flexibility Options

Flexible work at Huntress starts with being remote by design, not as a perk we’re trying to bolt on later. Our remote work model is meant to give you “tremendous flexibility in where and when you work,” so you can work in the location that’s most convenient for you and keep your schedule workable alongside real life.

To keep that flexibility from turning into chaos, we anchor around shared collaboration time. In most roles, you’re generally expected to be available during core hours (9:00–3:00) in the time zone you’re hired in. We’re also realistic that, as a global team, there are times you’ll need to collaborate outside of those hours—especially for essential cross-time-zone work or customer-facing roles that require set coverage.

And we treat flexibility as a two-way street. We ask teammates to be thoughtful about scheduling across time zones “within reason,” and to manage expectations around immediate replies so people can still do focused work.

Mental Health Support

We take mental health and wellbeing seriously, and we back that up with time, tools, and confidential support you can actually use.

For time away, Huntress provides Paid Wellness Time that’s separate from vacation time: 80 hours are front-loaded on your date of hire and can be used in one-hour increments for physical or mental health needs (for you or a family member), including preventive care. The policy is explicitly meant to remove stigma around taking time when you need it and to treat mental and physical health as equally important.

For support, teammates have access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that’s professional, confidential, and available 24/7 for you and your family. We also offer TouchCare, a free, confidential healthcare concierge that can help you navigate benefits and healthcare questions, from finding providers to sorting billing issues.

Because we’re a global team, specific mental health resources can vary by country (for example, Canada includes 24/7 mental health specialist access through Lumino Health and additional navigation support via Teladoc).
