Provides technical leadership across Homebase’s core product domains, including Payroll, Scheduling, Time Tracking, and HR Management. Defines technical vision, API strategy, service architecture, and domain-driven system decomposition. Build and scale full-stack Hiring Assistant features using React and Ruby on Rails. Develop AI-driven hiring workflows for candidate discovery, screening, matching, and onboarding; integrate LLMs, agents, and automation tools; and contribute to architecture, APIs, distributed systems, performance, testing, and scalability. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data while improving engineering velocity and code quality in a high-ownership hybrid environment.

Own Homebase’s first 30-day customer experience, including onboarding, activation, free-trial conversion, and early engagement. Define the growth product strategy and roadmap, optimize self-serve funnels, run A/B experiments, analyze behavioral data, and develop AI-first onboarding experiences. Partner with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and GTM leadership to improve activation, time-to-value, retention, and revenue outcomes.

Serve as the embedded HR partner for Engineering, Product, Design, and Data leaders. Coach managers on performance, employee relations, organizational health, and difficult people decisions. Manage performance cycles, leave programs, immigration cases, and employment-law matters across Canada and the US. Build talent programs, analyze people data, improve HR workflows with AI, and provide operational guidance while collaborating primarily in Toronto on a hybrid schedule.

Lead and grow the HB Assistant engineering team, own end-to-end delivery and architecture for web and mobile agentic experiences, partner with Product/Design/Data, drive engineering excellence (quality, monitoring, latency, data validation), and recruit top talent in a fast-moving AI-native environment.

Lead a 20+ person Data & AI org owning strategy, platform, MLOps, applied AI productization, data governance, experimentation, and cross-functional partnership to drive AI-powered customer outcomes.

The Software Engineer will build and maintain internal developer tools, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across teams to enhance developer experience and infrastructure reliability.

Build and maintain high-performance tablet apps (iPad and Android) using React Native. Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver features, improve performance and reliability for millions of users, use AI tools to accelerate development, participate in code reviews and architecture, and contribute to the mobile technical roadmap.

Own and stabilize the marketing tech stack, ensure data quality and attribution, enable integrations between marketing channels and Salesforce, automate lifecycle and campaign workflows, lead MarOps projects, and drive cross-functional alignment across Marketing, RevOps, Analytics, and Data Engineering.

Lead the Growth engineering team to build and scale acquisition funnels, PLG motions, onboarding personalization, and retention systems. Drive high-cadence experimentation (A/B testing), integrate AI-powered personalization and automation, partner with Product/Design/Data/Marketing, make architectural decisions, and hire/coach engineers to move quickly while minimizing technical debt.

Lead and execute RevOps initiatives: administer and scale Salesforce and GTM tech stack, design forecasting and capacity frameworks, drive cross-functional projects, improve funnel performance, build reporting/visibility, and coach teams on AI-enabled workflows.

The Applied AI Scientist will work on developing and deploying AI systems, collaborating across teams to improve product features and drive customer impact through machine learning models.
