Build, refactor, test, and maintain secure, scalable cloud services and microservices for Guidewire’s insurance platform. Design REST or gRPC APIs, use Java and Spring, work with containers and cloud platforms, and apply CI/CD and DevOps practices. The role also involves responsible use of AI-assisted coding tools, collaboration in agile cross-functional teams, observability, code quality, and continuous improvement.

Own and deliver high-visibility technical programs, cross-functional initiatives, and complex cloud infrastructure projects. Define and monitor platform metrics, identify variances, recommend corrective actions, and improve outcomes across fast-moving Engineering and Product teams. Facilitate decision-making on ambiguous problems, align loosely coupled teams, and drive cloud-focused program execution using work-planning tools. The role emphasizes AWS, Kubernetes, platform engineering, security, cost optimization, and data-driven delivery.

Provides production database administration and support across Oracle RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server in AWS environments. Responsibilities include incident response, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security hardening, monitoring, backup and recovery, schema changes, ticket management, documentation, and collaboration with application and infrastructure teams. The role supports highly available customer-facing databases and contributes to automation, compliance, reliability, and continuous operational improvement.
