Leads sourcing, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management for venture capital and private equity fund investments, primarily supporting Canada’s defence and dual-use investment mandate. Responsibilities include GP due diligence, investment committee recommendations, negotiations, portfolio monitoring, LPAC representation, market relationship development, and coaching junior team members. The role also develops expertise in defence technologies, procurement, deep-tech commercialization, and allied defence ecosystems.

Manages and grows a portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients through relationship management, financing solutions, advisory support, business development, financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and loan structuring. The role originates and closes commercial financing transactions, presents recommendations for approval, monitors portfolio performance, maintains regulatory compliance, and represents BDC within the local business community.

Manage the end-to-end Know Your Client process for financing applications. Review and validate client documentation, analyze financial and compliance information, identify risks or missing data, escalate concerns, and coordinate with business development leads, underwriters, clients, and internal stakeholders. Maintain accurate submissions, manage multiple files and deadlines, follow regulatory updates, and provide professional client service.
