Lead talent acquisition across Canada: develop employer brand and EVP, source diverse candidates via ATS and social media, manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, report recruiting metrics, optimize processes, represent ALS at events, and support HR projects.

Performs preparation, extraction, and analysis of soil and water samples. Operates, calibrates, maintains, and monitors laboratory equipment; prepares reagents and standards; completes data processing, quality control, documentation, and sample archiving. Maintains laboratory cleanliness and glassware, follows established procedures and safety requirements, meets turnaround times, and supports sample flow. Requires independent work, organization, communication, manual dexterity, PPE use, a high school diploma, and at least one year of laboratory experience.

The role includes sample disposal, weighing and tray preparation under supervision, following established procedures, training lab assistants, and complying with quality, safety, and PPE requirements. Perform routine and supervised sample preparation, aliquoting, storage and disposal; assist and train analysts and lab assistants; follow established procedures, safety policies, and maintain analytical quality in a fast-paced, shift-based water testing laboratory.

Lead development, validation, and implementation of radiochemical analytical methods (alpha/beta spectroscopy, LSC, ICP-MS) in a new laboratory. Manage daily lab operations, resource allocation, instrumentation maintenance, and regulatory compliance (ISO 17025, IAEA, CNSC, GMP/GLP). Provide technical leadership, support audits, oversee radioactive material handling and safety, and deliver technical reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Coordinate and support HSE programs for the Waterloo Hub and associated service centres, including inspections, training, incident investigation, contractor management, SDS maintenance, emergency response, exposure monitoring, respiratory fit testing, and regulatory compliance. Provide HSE orientation, co-chair safety committee, enter hazards/incidents into the Compliance Portal, and assist with policy/procedure development and continuous improvement.
