Leads and develops a team of IAM engineers, providing technical direction for backend architecture, distributed systems, engineering standards, and full project delivery. Partners with product, QA, SRE, and senior leadership to deliver customer-facing IAM platforms. Responsibilities include mentoring, hiring, onboarding, performance management, requirements clarification, execution oversight, and career development. Requires extensive engineering experience, Python knowledge, IAM expertise, distributed systems experience, Agile and SDLC understanding, and prior leadership experience.

Develop and enhance highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant IAM services on Akamai’s Compute Platform. Design resilient software, build tools for seamless deployment and operation, improve IAM features and customer experience, and research emerging technologies. The role requires extensive Linux software development, Python or Java expertise, secure software delivery, IAM knowledge, and experience with enterprise tools including Git, JIRA, and Jenkins.

Develop and manage mission-critical infrastructure services for Akamai’s cloud lab platform. Build deployment stacks for test datacenters, design observability and monitoring solutions, improve deployment and configuration performance, and collaborate with engineering, architecture, and site reliability teams. The role requires strong Infrastructure as Code, Python, REST API, container orchestration, development-environment tooling, and relational database experience.
