Leads and develops a team of IAM engineers, providing technical direction for backend architecture, distributed systems, engineering standards, and full project delivery. Partners with product, QA, SRE, and senior leadership to deliver customer-facing IAM platforms. Requires extensive engineering experience, Python knowledge, IAM expertise, distributed systems experience, Agile and SDLC understanding, and prior leadership experience.

Develop and enhance highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant IAM services on Akamai’s Compute Platform. Design resilient software, build tools for seamless deployment and operation, improve IAM features and customer experience, and research emerging technologies. The role requires extensive Linux software development, Python or Java expertise, secure software delivery, IAM knowledge, and experience with enterprise tools including Git, JIRA, and Jenkins.

Develop and manage mission-critical infrastructure services for Akamai’s cloud lab platform. Build deployment stacks for test datacenters, design observability and monitoring solutions, improve deployment and configuration performance, and collaborate with engineering, architecture, and site reliability teams. The role requires strong Infrastructure as Code, Python, REST API, container orchestration, development-environment tooling, and relational database experience.

Develop and manage mission-critical infrastructure services for cloud development and testing. Build Python backend services, APIs, automation, virtual machine environments, reservation systems, reporting tools, and resilient test frameworks. Improve reliability, scalability, deployment performance, and observability across physical and virtual infrastructure. Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with global Development and SRE teams.

Sell Akamai solutions to new major accounts in Canada, build C-level relationships, develop strategic sales plans, manage channel/reseller partnerships, drive high-volume pipeline, and negotiate contracts to ensure customer adoption and satisfaction.

Serve as a dedicated technical advisor for enterprise customers using Akamai cloud compute solutions. Drive adoption, retention, and cloud consumption growth by developing success plans, advising on workload placement, performance optimization, and AI inferencing use cases. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues, run business reviews, and manage customer success metrics (retention, NPS, cloud consumption).

Serve as the customer-facing security lead for Akamai product integrations, drive account team delivery and customer success, identify service improvements, manage technical projects and priorities, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality integration and support.

Lead test strategy and build scalable automated test frameworks for a custom Linux kernel. Validate performance, reliability, and security; develop test suites for kernel enhancements and VM software; debug low-level system issues; enhance CI/build automation; provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
