Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors).
About the role
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Workforce Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in managing our distributed and capacity-driven workforce, ensuring optimal staffing levels to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for overseeing workforce management principles, tools, and technologies, with a sharp focus on data-driven decision-making.
You must possess a deep understanding of audience needs and business context, and be able to communicate complex insights clearly across cross-functional teams, including executive and senior leaders. Your ability to scope analysis effectively and deliver results will be key to ensuring strategic alignment and operational success. This position requires excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, enabling you to collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders and executives.
The ideal candidate is curious by nature, with a strong desire to dive deep into data, uncovering causations, correlations, and actionable insights. You should be highly autonomous, able to manage projects and drive outcomes independently while ensuring that your analyses remain aligned with overall business objectives. This position reports to the VP of Strategic Finance.
Responsibilities
- Workforce Forecasting & Optimization: Develop and maintain workforce forecasts, incorporating historical data, seasonality trends, and business projections. Create and manage staffing models to optimize capacity, role types, and market demands.
- Performance Monitoring & Adjustment: Monitor key performance metrics such as service levels, occupancy rates, and adherence to utilization rate targets. Identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as needed.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze workforce data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. Use your curiosity and analytical skills to uncover insights, identify correlations, and understand causations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Product Management, Finance, HR, and other departments to understand business needs and ensure alignment of workforce plans. Work with Product and Operations leaders to implement strategies that improve efficiency and productivity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present regular reports on workforce performance, including key metrics and insights, to leadership and cross-functional teams. Influence decisions with clear, actionable results.
- Staffing Challenges & Adjustments: Proactively identify and address potential staffing challenges and make necessary adjustments.
- Data Integrity & Best Practices: Manage workforce data integrity, ensuring accurate employee business unit and department mappings. Contribute to the development and implementation of workforce management best practices.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting: Support ad-hoc requests for data analysis and reporting from various teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in workforce management, preferably in a distributed or high-volume environment with 500+ FTEs.
- Proven experience in workforce analysis, data analysis, or related fields.
- Experience with Bamboo HRIS and SQL or other database query languages (e.g., Snowflake, Sigma exposure) .
- Advanced skills in G-Suite, G-Sheets and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, macros).
- Strong understanding of workforce management principles, tools, and technologies.
- Ability to scope analysis and present clear, actionable results to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and tailor insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Natural curiosity with an aptitude for diving deep into data, uncovering insights, and identifying correlations and causations.
- Highly autonomous with a proactive approach to problem-solving and driving results.
- Excellent presentation skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence and lead discussions at all levels of the organization.
Location
Bay Area/Oakland, CA
This position is classified as HYBRID within the Greater Oakland Area, with an expectation to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly.
Compensation
$121,000 - $143,000 on annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.
Pay Transparency
Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only a part of our total compensation package.
