The Workday Financial Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and maintenance of the Workday Financial Management system. This role ensures that the Workday Financial system is optimized, secure, and effectively supports the organization’s financial operations. The Workday Finance Administrator will work closely with Finance, IT, and HR teams to ensure the system meets the needs of the business and complies with financial policies and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System Administration:

    • Administer and maintain the Workday Financial Management system and foundational data model (FDM), including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and Financial Reporting modules.

    • Assist in the management and configuration of user roles, permissions, and security settings to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

    • Monitor system performance, resolve issues, and manage regular updates and patches in collaboration with the IT team.
       

  • User Support & Training:

    • Provide frontline support to users for Workday Financial-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving system problems.

    • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of the Workday Financial system.

    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and documentation for users and administrators.

  • Configuration & Customization:

    • Configure and customize the Workday Financial system to meet the evolving needs of the business, including the creation of custom reports, dashboards, and workflows.

    • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements for system enhancements and translate them into technical specifications.

    • Test and validate changes before they are implemented in the production environment.

  • System Upgrades & Enhancements:

    • Stay informed about the latest Workday Financials features and updates, evaluating their potential impact on the organization.

    • Lead or participate in system upgrades and enhancement projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

    • Coordinate with Workday and other vendors for issue resolution and support.

  • Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure the Workday Financial system complies with all relevant financial regulations and internal controls.

    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and system access.

    • Monitor and manage system risks, implementing security controls and contingency plans as needed.

  • Reporting & Analytics:

    • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards within Workday to support decision-making processes.

    • Analyze system usage and performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

    • Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting needs and data analysis.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology required

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Workday Financials Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of financial processes and Workday Financial Management modules required

    • Corporate Accounting experience With operational experience, transactional volume

    • Proficiency in Workday Financials module and business process configurations

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research issues and provide solutions

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail.

    • Strong facilitation, communication and presentation skills with technical and business audiences

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Certifications:

    • Workday Financials Certification is preferred.
