At Kognitiv Inc., we’re redefining what it means to be a Workday partner. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the ecosystem, we bring deep expertise, innovative thinking, and a people-first mindset to everything we do. We’re not just building better Workday solutions—we’re building a company where talented people thrive.

Ready to do your best work? Join us.

Build the "Un-buildable" on the Workday Platform.

Our Workday Extend team is small, agile, and growing at light speed. We don’t just "configure" Workday—we treat it as a development platform. We are looking for a Consultant who wants to move beyond standard modules and dive into the world of custom objects, event-driven orchestrations, and high-impact app development. This is a rare opportunity to be a founding member of a rapidly scaling Extend practice, where you will help define our development standards and build solutions that truly didn't exist before.

The Role: Architect, Developer, Trailblazer

As an Extend Consultant, you are the bridge between a client’s "I wish Workday could do this" and a fully functional, production-ready application. You will use the Workday App Builder and Orchestration Builder to create seamless experiences that live natively within the Workday UI.

Key Technical Focus Areas:

  • App Development: Build custom apps using the Workday Extend framework, managing the full lifecycle from App Hub configuration to production deployment.

  • Orchestration: Design and build complex, event-driven Workday Orchestrations to sync data across Workday and third-party systems (using the Orchestration Builder drag-and-drop tool).

  • Data Modeling: Create and manage Custom Business Objects (CBOs) and custom processes to extend the Workday data model.

  • UI/UX Design: Craft intuitive user experiences using Page Builder, ensuring a "Workday-native" look and feel for every custom task.

  • Advanced Logic: Utilize Workday Query Language (WQL) and REST/SOAP APIs to pull, push, and transform data with precision.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

  • Design & Prototype: Translate complex business requirements into technical blueprints including UI flows, security domains, and data models.

  • Full-Stack Extend Delivery: Independently build, test, and deploy applications, ensuring they are "update-safe" and maintainable.

  • Troubleshoot & Optimize: Debug complex logic within orchestrations and perform root-cause analysis on app performance or security issues.

  • Practice Building: Contribute to our internal Reusable Solution Library. Since our team is small, your templates and "best practices" will become the foundation for all future hires.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Functional and Integration teams to ensure Extend apps integrate perfectly with core HCM, Finance, or Student modules.

Qualifications

  • The Foundation: 3+ years of experience in Workday Extend.

  • The Toolkit: Proficient in REST APIs, JSON, and Workday Web Services. Familiarity with WQL is a major advantage.

  • The Architect Mindset: Ability to design Workday Orchestrations and custom security models independently.

  • The Builder Spirit: Experience with App Builder (Visual and Code modes) and a solid understanding of how to extend Workday's metadata-driven architecture.

  • Growth Ready: Comfortable in a "startup-style" environment within a larger company—you are proactive, love to learn, and aren't afraid to help build the roadmap as we go.

  • Communication: Ability to explain the "Art of the Possible" with Extend to non-technical stakeholders.
