  • Edit footage into finished pieces, adding motion graphics, captions, music and sound design.
  • Produce vertical short-form video for YouTube and social media
  • Produce longer-form pieces such as mission explainers, behind-the-scenes features and event recaps

  • Help build and run a monthly content calendar across all four channels and the website.
  • Write captions, video titles, descriptions and short copy that make technical topics clear and engaging.
  • Adapt each piece to its platform: long-form video and Shorts on YouTube, Reels, carousels and Stories on Instagram, community updates on Facebook, and timely posts and threads on Twitter (X).
  • Post live from launches, field trials, conferences and events.
  • Respond to comments and messages and help grow our community on each channel.
  • Track reach, views, watch time and engagement, and suggest changes based on what performs.
  • Support content for PR campaigns around specific missions, events and outreach activities.

Assets and coordination

  • Organize and maintain our library of footage, photos and finished videos so they are easy to find and reuse.
  • Brief and coordinate with third-party video contractors when we bring in outside support.
  • Make sure all content follows brand guidelines and any confidentiality or export-control requirements from partners.
  • Join regular comms meetings and share progress on content in production.

  • Hands-on experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Comfort operating cameras, audio equipment and lighting, including smartphones
  • A strong sense of storytelling, pacing and what makes people stop scrolling.
  • Experience creating content for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (X), and familiarity with each platform's trends and formats.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated and able to manage several projects at once.

Assets

  • Motion graphics or animation experience (for example, After Effects).
  • Graphic design skills (for example, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).
  • Photography experience.
  • Interest in science communication, especially space science, robotics and AI.
