Are you interested in working on a product that scales?  Do you want to be given the time to measure whether that cache is meaningful?  What about getting to pick your own tools (and even write them when necessary)?  If so, keep reading…

What this role is:

You will be working as part of a delivery team that builds world-class web applications running on top of AWS.  You will help build and maintain the services that test the limits of our workforce management product. You will help support existing UI in production.  You will continuously deploy your own code without downtime.  Most importantly, you will be part of a team that genuinely cares about quality and performance instead of just giving it lip service.

What this role is not:

You will not be a simple programmer who is given detailed specifications and forced to write code that others want you to.  You won’t have all the technical decisions made for you.  We want real software engineers here – people who care about doing it right the first time.

What you will bring to the table:

You should be a lifelong learner who works well within a team.  You should be a strong problem solver who can debug complex customer situations one day and building out new scalable code the next. You should be detail-oriented, be smart, and get things done.

Some details about what you will do day to day:

  • Develop and maintain responsive world-class web application.

  • Implement high-quality new features focused on user experience (UX).

  • Build and maintain tools that help you and others respond to customer issues more easily.

  • Support other activities in the development lifecycle including requirement gathering, architecture review, testing, and documentation.

  • Help resolve complex customer issues that come to our team after being investigated by our service operations team.

  • Understand our APIs and how they are used by our customers.

  • Participate in code reviews to both learn and grow as an engineer as well as help your peers.

  • Participate in a minimal amount of team meetings such as retrospectives and design meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience focused on front-end development.

  • Strong TypeScript skills, with a focus on building scalable, maintainable, and performant codebases.

  • Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or Knockout.js.

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and how to integrate them into web applications.

  • Experience working in a Unix-based environment (Linux or macOS preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and writing unit tests for front-end components.

  • Familiarity with tools and practices for CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and modern browser performance optimizations.
