The VP of Sales is responsible for generating new revenue for the organization by marketing Broadridge’s Investor Communication Solutions’ (ICS) products and services to the largest and most complex organizations in the corporate issuer and mutual fund communities in Canada.

Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of strategic sales plans for ICS Proxy sales in Canada. Ensures Sales Executives maintain pipeline of deals and continually builds long-term relationships to generate additional opportunities.

  • Leads a team of individual Sales Executives by providing day-to-day coaching on identifying new business prospects to establish business partner opportunities, including cold calling activities, networking, leveraging, and internal relationships. Assists them in developing marketing strategies for Broadridge services and products to these new clients, which may include direct responsibility for individual accounts.

  • Ensures all aspects of the sales process, from inception to completion, are completed, including the SOX approval process for all proposals and contracts. 

  • Guides Sales Executives through the high-level and detailed interaction with Senior Management at the client site and within Broadridge, to ensure prospect’s business is in line with Broadridge capabilities and prospect is a good business partner. 

  • Maintains a constant awareness of current and planned development of Broadridge U.S. and Canadian products servicing the Corporate Issuer market.

  • Works closely with the VP, Sales Canada to evaluate the suitability/adaptability of products for the Canadian marketplace to drive new revenue generation.

  • Oversees 54-101 Proxy renewal activities, to ensure that existing business is retained and yearly targets associated with win backs are achieved.

  • Ensures proposal templates and presentations are accurate, and reflect the value proposition of our products and services on a regular basis.

  • Sales Management/Administration: Responsible for sales forecasting and providing management with all requested sales reports and supporting correspondence, including the continuous utilization of the sales management tool by Sales Executives. Completes regular weekly and monthly forecasting to facilitate ICS Deep Dive meetings. Acts as back-up to VP, Sales Canada

  • Works closely with the VP, Sales Canada to review and approve marketing plans for new ICSC products and services.

  • Participates in the recruiting and training process for new associates to ensure that they understand the regulatory frameworks, and applicability of Broadridge products and services.

  • Attends bi-weekly ICSC management meetings and participates in Peer Group meetings.

  • Attends trade shows, conferences, or other industry-related events to help strengthen existing Broadridge/client relationships, develop new relationships, remain current on industry issues, increase awareness of competitive offerings, and promote Broadridge products and services.

Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or the equivalent in education and experience.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of extensive Sales experience in the Investor Relations/Corporate Secretary/Transfer Agency industry.

  • In addition, experience in the Financial Services/Brokerage industry will be an asset for the role.

  • In-depth knowledge of products and services.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales quotas.

  • 3-4 years managing direct reports.

  • Proven time management and goal-setting skills are critical.

  • Knowledge of solution selling is an asset.

Skills:

  • Superior verbal and written skills in English.

  • Proven ability to maintain, and build client and internal relationships.

  • Extensive networking skills.

  • Adept in use of presentation and communication software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, prospecting, organizational, and strategic selling skills.

  • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain relationships.

  • Ability to inititate relationships and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while mantaining attention to detail.

  • Team player that can get directly engaged in deals and manage accounts independently, if required.

  • Must be willing to travel.
