Job Description

We are actively seeking a strategic and relationship-driven leader to join our team as Vice President, Partnerships. This role will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding key partnership relationships that are critical to the company’s growth and success. Reporting directly to the Canada Country Manager, the VP will work closely with Risk Underwriting, Commercial Underwriting, IT, and Marketing to execute strategic initiatives focused on increasing new business, enhancing client retention, and driving revenue growth.

This is a highly visible role that requires the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders. Clear, concise, and confident communication is essential, as the VP will collaborate with cross-functional leaders across Coface to ensure the success of our partnerships. The ideal candidate will bring experience in trade credit insurance and a strong understanding of underwriting principles. Most importantly, they will be passionate about building relationships, delivering results, and approaching challenges with creativity.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical, as this role involves proactive and diplomatic conversations on delicate matters. The successful candidate will demonstrate tact, discretion, and emotional intelligence when navigating sensitive topics with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and executes strategic and tactical account plans with partners.
  • Collaborates internally to identify opportunities to work with partners to maximize revenue and build deeper client relationships.
  • Acts as the liaison for partners, proactively identifying and solving partner and customer issues and challenges in a timely manner
  • Responds swiftly and manage day-to-day partner activities to strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Drives workflow and leads discussions with partners.
  • Be a “voice of the partner” and service our partnerships through proactive, cross-functional collaboration and continuously improving processes ensuring they remain efficient, relevant and repeatable.
  • Works with the Marketing team to drive partner relevant events, webcasts and case studies.
  • Assesses and communicates coverage needs with risk underwriters in order to maximize acceptance rate for clients.
  • Delivers critical data to the client; translating critical information into client needs.
  • Collaborates with partners to work proactively on contract renewals and address any potential risks/vulnerabilities in advance.
  • Identifies weaknesses in the portfolio and come up with solutions while ensuring client retention.
  • Supplies management with verbal and written reports on results, challenges, partner needs, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Performs market analysis and identifies new partnership opportunities for Coface.
  • Employs your expertise to contribute to the success of local and regional side projects.

 

Qualifications

In order to be considered for this role, you must possess the following:

  • A can-do, entrepreneurial drive, focusing on solving problems creatively with a high level of energy.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills, experience in the field of partner management and business development (8+ years).
  • Remarkable listening skills and a natural curiosity to deeply understand your partner’s business and needs.
  • Solid presentation and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills as the candidate must be able to properly prioritize and execute on partner’s and Coface’s top priorities.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced and geographically diverse company.
  • Language: Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English are essential. French is a plus.
