Officer position responsible for design and execution of a comprehensive distribution strategy and achieving set profitability and production goals for assigned region, across all business units and lines of business. This role will work closely with the business unit senior executives whose products are transacted in the region and the underwriters working in the region. Has overall accountability for the success of the assigned regional COR, sales, and production operations. Strategic inputs have impact on the mid-to-long term success of the company.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  • Engages with all business and enablement units in shaping market facing communications and all sales initiatives for region.
  • Develops and has accountability for short- and long-term strategic plans for region, ensuring execution of distribution strategy, broker growth strategies and strategic planning meetings.
  • Manages, develops and ensures annual production and profitability plans are met for assigned national and regional brokers. Acts as a primary relationship manager for the largest producer relationships and industry associations within region.
  • Develop a strategic understanding of the brokers business model, organizational design, portfolio mix, and areas of expertise to ensure the highest-level partnership and maximize the flow of prospects towards CNA based on each business unit's target appetite.
  • Create, nurture, and foster strong relationships with assigned brokers nationwide ensuring servicing and needs are being met, while working closely with the local distribution and Business Unit Leads to ensure local office accountability towards the achievement of the national and regional annual production and profitability plan.
  • Is responsible for ensuring alignment between all CNA business units' target appetites and the books of business of brokers in the region to maximize profitable growth opportunities. This role must know all available CNA Canada products in assigned region.
  • Ensure utilization of Broker Platforms and SalesForce in the Region and leads Regional Production meetings.
  • Will lead, direct and has full management accountability for staff in area with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
  • Supports go-to-market strategies for new customer segments and/or product launches in collaboration with BUs and Marketing to identify target brokers and develop sales and pipeline strategies.


May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance distribution and trends in the Canadian Marketplace.
  • Strong Producer relationships with National and Regional Broker Partners
  • Expert communication skills which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team, matrix and/or hybrid environment.
  • Superior leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to drive sales results and use data & analytics, creativity and intuitiveness to resolve unique and challenging business issues
  • Superior leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to drive change.
  • Advanced knowledge working with CRM System, Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Typically, a minimum of 15-20 years of related underwriting, sales, marketing and distribution management experience.
  • Applicable professional certifications preferred but not required.
