About the Role:
The VP, Global Talent will be responsible for aligning the COE from the ground up and leading the team that is responsible for designing and executing global talent strategies that support Shift4’s rapid growth and evolving workforce needs. This leader will oversee talent acquisition, employee learning and development, goal setting and performance management, talent management and career pathing—ensuring we attract, retain, and grow top talent worldwide. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader, experienced in managing highly global teams, setting strategy, executing within budget, and delivering data-driven, scalable talent solutions.  

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the global Talent COE, overseeing Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Performance Management, and Talent Management.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end talent strategies that align with Shift4’s business goals, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles.
  • Build and scale global talent programs from the ground up, leveraging best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Partner closely with HRBPs and business leaders to ensure alignment between talent initiatives and organizational needs.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Drive a global recruiting strategy, ensuring Shift4 attracts and hires top talent across all key markets.
  • Implement data-driven hiring practices, ensuring efficiency, speed, and quality of hires.
  • Develop employer branding initiatives to position Shift4 as an employer of choice in fintech and payments.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning efforts, ensuring long-term talent supply aligns with business growth.

Learning & Development

  • Oversee the design and implementation of learning and career development programs that support employees at all levels.
  • Establish a structured career pathing framework, ensuring employees have visibility into growth opportunities.
  • Lead the evolution of leadership development programs, ensuring a strong internal pipeline of future leaders.

Performance Management & Goal Setting

  • Drive a high-performance culture through structured goal setting, ongoing feedback, and performance assessments.
  • Own and refine Shift4’s performance management framework, ensuring accountability, transparency, and alignment with business goals.
  • Leverage analytics to measure effectiveness of talent programs and continuously improve them.
  • Put in place practices around talent assessments and talent reviews

What We’re Looking For:

  • 15+ years of experience in HRleadership roles, with experience leading all facets of HR 
  • Experience managing diverse, global talent teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Proven ability to set strategy and execute at scale, balancing long-term vision with immediate business needs.
  • Experience with start-ups and M&A integration
  • Strong analytical mindset, with a data-driven approach to talent decision-making.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience partnering with HRBPs and business leaders to drive impact.
  • Previous experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing Workday and other HR tech solutions is a plus.
