As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Investment and Technology Solutions to clients across the globe, we manage approximately $134.9 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $821.2 billion in non-discretionary assets as of December 31, 2024.

The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is a leading global private markets provider with a significant footprint in Canada, including a market-leading presence in the Canadian wealth ecosystem. We are seeking an experienced business development/sales professional to join our growing Canadian team.  

  

This role will be focused primarily on building Hamilton Lane’s presence and co-leading our distribution efforts to Advisors, with a particular focus on major Canadian banks and other wealth management platforms. The ideal candidate will have established relationships in the Advisor channel and a strong track record of successfully distributing investment products. While the role is based in Toronto, coverage includes Toronto and Western Canada. As such, extensive travel is required 
 

Your responsibilities will be to:

Working closely alongside the Hamilton Lane Canadian team and our global sales team, you will:  

  • Build Hamilton Lane’s network amongst the Canadian bank platforms (Advisors) and other Canadian wealth management platforms.
  • Assist in the coverage of National Accounts/Research at the various wealth platforms. 
  • Increase the distribution in Canada of Hamilton Lane’s evergreen private markets funds.  
  • Work with our global evergreen team to create investment summaries, presentations, pitchbooks, fact sheets and fundraising materials that are relevant to a Canadian audience.
  • Proactively originate new business opportunities with prospective investors.  
  • A high expected level of business development activity, through in-person meetings, video/telephone conversations, roadshows with senior executives, and  events.  
  • Provide ongoing support for existing investors. 
     

Your background will include:

  • Successful track record distributing to Advisors within the bank platforms and/or independent wealth management platforms is a must.
  • 5+ years minimum experience in a related role, experience working with Canadian wealth management platforms is a plus.  
  • An understanding of private markets (private equity, private credit, real assets) would be an asset. 
  • Must have excellent presentation skills and experience working with a variety of client types.
  • A proactive and results-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and experience in new business origination.  
  • Proficient with MS Office and demonstrated ability to learn proprietary systems, CRMs and software.  
  • Ability to travel frequently. 

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid: Employees work from our Toronto headquarters office for most of the workweek (Monday-Thursday).
