Business Overview 

Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.

It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.

 

The Role 

  • The role will have a primary focus on driving the development of client relationships and fundraising across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan and other regions within Canada, as needed, as part of the Global Client Solutions (GCS) team

  • Champion IFM business both internally and representing IFM externally to clients, prospects, consultants and industry leaders

  • Drive cross-selling initiatives across the Canadian client base by working closely with the Canadian team to tier, prioritize and execute on client outreach.

  • Manage existing client relationships, driving client satisfaction and deepen wallet share of client base

  • Support the development and execution of sales plans

  • Maintain, and increase client satisfaction by working with the relevant teams across IFM to fulfill the accountability for the accurate and prompt production of all relevant client and consultant materials to ensure quality control and appropriate risk management

  • Play a role in the delivery of GCS global and regional change initiatives

  • Provide training, coaching, role-modelling and skill building for the Canadian team on fundraising and client relationship management 

  • Adeptly manage external and internal stakeholders

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Canadian team in close collaboration with wider regional GCS team and GCS globally

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements across the Canadian business.

 

Strategic Planning 

  • Be a strong contributor to the delivery of GCS NAM as part of the overall GCS Six Pillar scorecard.

  • Make recommendations for innovation and change rooted in competitor and investment market trends.

  • Contribute to and execute IFM Investors sales business plans to increase brand and product penetration and ultimately FUM.

  • Qualify the North American market for new business opportunities

  • Contribute to sales from existing and new clients through identifying and executing cross-selling and new selling opportunities.

  • Attend relevant industry conferences to increase IFM brand awareness and engage with existing and prospective investors

  • Demonstrate professional and proactive client service management, meeting and exceeding the needs of clients and asset consultants.

  • Prepare and make client presentations with impact and substance.

  • Assist with the review of marketing materials to support business development strategies.

  • Ensure CRM database is maintained accurately to enhance team effectiveness and permit stakeholder reporting.

  • Provide feedback on market issues involving clients, prospects, and other general industry trends.

  • Collaborate with the broader GCS NAM team and build culture across the team

  • Complete projects assigned by the Global and Regional Heads of GCS including Canada

 

 

 

Business Performance

 

  • Establish sales plans covering priority institutions, and proactively and constantly monitor and adjust based on relevant insights.

  • Establish a clear sales pipeline to deliver against the plan.

  • Track and report pipeline opportunities against relevant metrics.

  • Be willing to travel regularly to client offices and industry events

  • Provide feedback and participate in improvement of GCS’ process around business development, client on-boarding and client and prospect engagement.

 Your Background and Experience 

  • Ideally 8+ years’ relevant experience in similar role preferably with a multi-asset manager or other institutional investment firm which offers traditional and alternative products, with particular experience and/or interest in private infrastructure.

  • Strong academic credentials including a 4-year undergraduate degree.

  • Advanced degree and/or CFA a plus. 

  • Proven track record of managing data and information on firm and products in support of capital raising with existing and new investor relationships and consultants.

  • Understanding of data request processes and key systems used to respond to investor and consultant requests.

  • High degree of technical acumen as well as a deep understanding across Infrastructure and/or Private Markets.

  • Strong conceptually and analytically, able to grasp commercial and strategic aspects of the business.
