About this role

Business Overview

BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team sits at the center of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS leverages index, factor, and alpha-seeking capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes across commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions for wealth and institutional clients. With more than 600 investment professionals globally, MASS manages over $2 trillion in assets across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.

Position Overview

MASS is modernizing its investment platforms through an investment-first approach to better support its businesses, strengthen governance, and enable scalable growth. This Vice President will play a central role in driving platform transformation and advancing strategic initiatives across global teams.

The role is responsible for defining and enhancing core platform capabilities, refining operating models, and leading execution of complex, cross-functional programs. Partnering across Investments, Sales, Service, Technology, and Operations, the VP will assess target-state architecture, develop clear roadmaps, and oversee coordinated implementation to improve scalability and operational efficiency.

This individual will drive planning and prioritization across concurrent initiatives, ensuring transparency of risks, dependencies, and trade-offs while maintaining alignment with business objectives.

Success requires structured problem-solving, strong business judgment, executive communication skills, and the ability to influence a global, matrixed organization to deliver measurable, durable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end business architecture and execution of complex, multi-workstream platform initiatives.

  • Translate commercial and investment priorities into structured problem statements, target-state capability models, and phased execution roadmaps aligned to measurable growth outcomes.

  • Design and implement scalable operating models and governance frameworks that strengthen platform resilience and enhance client delivery.

  • Oversee program governance, execution discipline, and value realization tracking, ensuring initiatives deliver against defined scope, timelines, risks, and commercial objectives.

  • Maintain an integrated view of priorities, sequencing, and interdependencies, proactively identifying risks and driving trade-off decisions.

  • Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements, align resources, and influence decision-making in a matrixed global environment.

  • Develop executive-ready materials that provide transparency into strategy, progress, decisions, risks, and outcomes.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource on investment platform infrastructure, ensuring day-to-day execution aligns with long-term platform direction.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in business architecture, platform strategy, strategic business analysis, or complex program management within asset management or financial services.

  • Demonstrated track record leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with significant organizational and commercial impact.

  • Experience owning or managing enterprise roadmaps, multi-program portfolios, or large-scale strategic planning initiatives.

  • Strong experience in business process analysis and operating model design, including documentation and implementation of scalable frameworks.

  • Proven ability to translate investment and commercial strategy into technology-enabled, data-driven solutions and sustainable operating platforms.

  • Solid understanding of financial markets and multi-asset investment platforms, including exposure to equities, fixed income, alternatives, and model portfolios.

  • Experience operating effectively in a matrixed global organization, influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to build trust and drive alignment across diverse functional teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to construct clear, compelling executive narratives grounded in structured reasoning and data.

  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while managing multiple high-priority initiatives.

  • Familiarity with investment platform infrastructure; knowledge of Aladdin strongly preferred.

  • PMP or equivalent program management certification a plus.
