Overview of Position:  

HUB International continues to grow and transform.  We are looking for an insurance professional with deep analytical skills capable of developing strategies for Analytics and Business Insights.  This role will work in the Toronto office reporting to the National Chief Marketing Officer, Canada and will work collaboratively with all regions, practice leaders and the National CMO to provide business insights, supporting the Presidents, Chief Marketing Officers and Chief Sales Officers across the HUB’s in Canada.  This role will support strategies and programs to increase growth with our insurer partners.  The goal is to provide insights into potential products, programs, pricing, and partner with our carriers to create value for our clients through risk engineering and claims building a stronger and differentiated proposition for our sales force allowing distinct market competitiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:

The VP Analytics and Business Insights serves an integral role supporting National and Regional leaders.

  • Building dynamic and scalable financial dashboards for reporting and insights
  • Analytics strategy including data accuracy, extraction, to support and inform sales and marketing strategies
  • Developing Insurer business profiles
  • Providing financial and business analytics to support client and sales activity delivering on Customer Centric Carrier insurer execution plans
  • Industry sector and vertical analysis (external and internal) and planning to support distribution strategy, product development and sales focuses
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for broker data analytics
  • Partner with and support Regional CMOs, CSOs and COOs in driving successful results including Market intel
  • Modelling CPC/GSC agreements and proactively forecast revenue including working with regional teams on gap filler initiatives
  • Assisting with revenue budget initiatives
  • Review and analysis of broker compensation plans and contracts against market and key competitors
  • Unlicensed insurer placement compliance and strategy
  • National projects supporting client placement
  • National project supporting carrier placement and growth strategies, including MGA and Lloyds placement strategies
  • Build strong relationships with strategic partners

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 10 years + experience in commercial insurance industry focused on financial and business analytics
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Contract management experience with emphasis on broker compensation programs
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills: verbal, written and presentations
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills at the Executive and Senior Management level
  • Business development or sales operations experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (Advanced: Pivot Tables), PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Experience building databases and sophisticated financial dashboards
  • Advanced analytics and research skills
  • Direct insurer company experience in a similar business analytics role desired
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
