At Interac, we design and deliver products and solutions that give Canadians control over their money so they can get more out of life. But that’s not all. Whether we’re leading real-time money movement, driving innovative commerce solutions like open payments for transit systems, or making advancements in new areas like verification and open banking, we are playing a key role in shaping the future of the digital economy in Canada.

Want to make a lasting impact amongst a community of creative thinkers, problem solvers, and high-performance application developers? We want to hear from you.

The UX Researcher—reporting to the Product Design Leader—will be responsible for conducting user research and analyzing data to inform multiple product designs (specifically internal employee-facing systems/products). You will work closely with the design team from ideation to launch in order to implement design choices that improve user experience. You will also be responsible for developing a well-crafted research plan with clear research objectives, writing usability research screeners and discussion guides, and recruiting targeted end-users for specific research studies.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Conducting user research to understand various types of user needs, preferences, and pain points.

  • Planning, designing, and executing user research studies, including usability tests, interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research.

  • Analyzing and interpreting research findings to identify actionable insights and make data-driven recommendations for UX improvements.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to incorporate user feedback into product development processes.

  • Creating user personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.

  • Vocalizing improvements that you observe should be made to our existing products and overall design process.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Communications, a related field or have relevant professional experience.

  • 2+ years experience as a UX Researcher, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful UX research projects.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

  • Familiarity with UX design principles and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Knowledge of user-centered design processes and agile development methodologies.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Interac requires employees to complete a background check that is completed by one of our service providers.  We use this service to complete the following checks:

  • Canadian criminal record check;
