The Role:

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a UX Research Intern to join our Research Team for a 6-month contract! The team is comprised of many highly talented enthusiastic individuals who ensure the services and offerings from Kobo are available to both internal and external customers. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, the intern will provide crucial support to our research team across a variety of tasks, contributing to the successful execution of research projects from inception to completion.

The Skillset: 

Required: 

  • Bachelors Degree 
  • Previous experience conducting quantitative or qualitative research, either in a school or work setting 
  • Interest in research methodologies and data analysis 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills 
  • Proactive, “can do” attitude 
  • High attention to detail: ability to balance overall project goal with key milestones and tasks 
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite; specifically, PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Self-starter with superior organization skills who thrives in a deadline driven environment 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and diplomatically respond to conflicting needs 

 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Post-Graduate Certificate - Research Analyst 
  • Experience extracting, preparing, and analyzing data sets 
  • Experience using SAS, SQL, Python, R, or other similar software. 
  • Experience with UserTesting 
  • Experience with survey platforms like Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey
