At Interac, we design and deliver products and solutions that give Canadians control over their money so they can get more out of life. But that’s not all. Whether we’re leading real-time money movement, driving innovative commerce solutions like open payments for transit systems, or making advancements in new areas like verification and open banking, we are playing a key role in shaping the future of the digital economy in Canada.

Want to make a lasting impact amongst a community of creative thinkers, problem solvers, and high-performance application developers? We want to hear from you.

They will use their creativity, imagination, and design expertise in shaping new products and services for millions of Canadians.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, sitemaps, and pixel-perfect visual designs in Figma that strongly factor in stakeholder requirements and feedback.

  • Leading the creation of various design needs; from quick, low-fidelity mock-ups during design ideation to high-fidelity designs for developers.

  • Actively receiving feedback from your stakeholders—from our core product design team to internal and external stakeholders—and beyond.

  • Presenting and articulating your design choices and rationale to diverse audiences, both internally and externally. You love receiving feedback and consider it a critical part of the design process.

  • Collaborating with our UX Research team to integrate research and usability testing insights into your designs. You’re comfortable requesting UX Research when needed, are able to identify when it is required and have a history of integrating that sort of feedback into your designs.

  • Championing accessible design and ensuring your designs are WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A & AA compliant.

  • Iterating rapidly on design concepts derived from user research, data trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Vocalizing improvements that you observe should be made to our existing products and overall design process.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Design, a related field or have relevant professional experience.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Expert proficiency in Figma and the entirety of functionality it offers (ex. prototyping).

  • Advanced knowledge of the end-to-end design process; you can develop and leverage UX research and analytics, user flow diagrams, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centred design solutions.

  • A love for feedback and actively seek it out, but are comfortable defending your designs if needed.

  • The ability to communicate design concepts to designers, developers, and other stakeholders.

  • Passion for product design and are excited by the idea of your design work influencing the lives of millions of Canadians.

  • A portfolio that can clearly and effectively showcase your design skills, experience, and are comfortable speaking to it.

  • Experience navigating conflicting priorities and can turn ambiguity into clarity in a fast-paced environment.
