Reporting to the Treasury Director Cash Management Operations (CMO), as a Treasury Operations Specialist, you will become a subject matter expert developing in-depth knowledge of banking payment and collection infrastructure and processes. You’ll become well versed in treasury operational processes, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and support the broader operations team. You will leverage your expertise in modern treasury technology, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions to support the ongoing evolution of Treasury processes to find efficiencies and reduce risk levering technology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop business and technical expertise in Manulife’s Treasury Operations end to end processes and systems, with specific focus on INFOR, external Banks and Kyriba applications.
- Support ongoing Treasury Operations Transformation initiatives, including leading and representing treasury operations on key components while collaborating towards efficient processes and a great experience for all stakeholders.
- Proactively review processes for opportunities to improve and streamline activities, including leveraging technology, improving efficiency, reducing operational risk, improving customer experience and strengthening controls.
- Lead or contribute to automation initiatives using intelligent automation, including RPA, AI agents, copilots and AI‑assisted process redesign. As business and technical expert, support the CMO team by providing guidance, fostering knowledge transfer and leading through change.
- Support the overall capacity of the broader team by acting as production backup, providing supervision to the analysts, ensuring the continuity of daily activities while meeting SLAs, day to day decision making and representation on initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and business unit customers, providing exceptional customer service, collecting improvement opportunities, collaborating through solution design, leading change readiness, informing and coordinating through outages, escalations and production issues.
- Support the assessment and resolution of production incidents, including coordination with internal stakeholders and determine when to engage external vendors and Banks.
- Expand the competency of treasury management systems and processes within CMO by maintaining the process log, scheduling training and promoting a culture for ongoing knowledge transfer and digital transformation
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or related area
- CTP or another treasury/finance related certification. Knowledge of treasury operations and cash management or experience in comparable operational or financial disciplines.
- 2+ years’ experience in a large and/or complex organization handling time-critical or sensitive processes utilizing complex ERP systems and leveraging technology to solve problems and create efficiencies
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Digital mindset and capability, comfortable learning emerging technologies and driving adoption across the team. Competent utilizing technical tools (including AI) to analyze problems, communicate solutions and lead through implementation.
- Experience in treasury management functionalities, payments processing or complex operational processes.
- Experience using a treasury management system or ERP with ability to learn the technical side of a treasury management system.
- Proactive – willing to identify issues, ask questions, recommend alternative solutions, and implement the agreed upon solution. Always supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical skills, attentive to details and ability to react quickly and respond to problems within tight deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, exhaust available options and determine when escalation or engaging outside help is required.
- Ability to connect the dots between different sources of information to investigate variances and explain the reason for the observed differences using the treasury management system and other sources of information.
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational/planning, time management and prioritization skills capable of managing multiple assignments with quality.
- Team player and ability to work as a team within a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and critical functions that demand a high level of accuracy.

Salary range is expected to be between
$62,850.00 CAD - $104,750.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
