Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant carrier modes the proper balance of transport modes within managed regions
  • Collaborate with both carriers and customers (internal and external) to drive overall supply chain efficiencies
  • Manage relationships with carriers, ensuring performance is tracked, evaluated, and improved based on cost, capacity, and service.
  • Support the procurement of transport services, including managing tender processes, onboarding new carriers, and negotiating rates.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as carrier on-time performance, cost per load, and trailer utilization, and report findings.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in service and operations.
  • Support or lead transportation-related projects to improve overall supply chain performance.

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of the Transportation analyst is to be the subject matter expert for the Tender Management System and all transport operational processes

Scope

  • Provide internal and external support for the transportation team and the carrier base
  • Back up person for USA tender management support person

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee execution of the Tender Management System (TMS) including upgrades, enhancements, testing, and training, including the preparation of SOP documents.
  • Identify additional functionality opportunities and design sustainable solutions by leveraging existing and new technologies
  • Design and monitor KPI reports to measure on-time service, transportation spend against budget, accessorial charge incursions, routing guide compliance, and tender acceptance compliance
  • Lead monthly reviews of KPI’s with various stakeholders
  • Identify efficiency opportunities for service and cost.
  • Analyze new business initiatives involving transportation, including rate simulations, spend analysis, and capacity requirements (peak and non-peak)
  • Review carrier service and work with internal stakeholders, carriers and customers to determine areas for service improvement
  • Maintain repository for service agreements 
  • Provide RFP’s to carriers
  • Create reporting to ensure accurate freight accrual process by identifying issues such as poor performing carriers with aging and unpaid issues and outstanding plant goods issue and good receipts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred , preferably in supply chain /transportation / operations management / data science / computer science / industrial engineering / statistics / machine learning

Experience

  • Analytical capabilities needed to convert large amounts of data into a clear story and/or assess business process improvement opportunities - especially to an executive audience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate at all organizational levels
  • Ability to maintain poise and a positive attitude in a challenging environment
  • Experience in supply chain management preferred
  • Experience with transportation and Tender Management software systems
  • Data science experience a plus
  • Working with and organizing large amounts of data into meaningful reports
  • Experience with QlikView a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint) required

Skills and Knowledge

  • Required – Experience with TMS Software (BlueYonder)
  • Required – Strong analytical and presentation skills, expertise in MS Office (Power BI, SQL, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in developing analytical frameworks, visual intelligence tools, and executive dashboards

Languages

Required English  Desirable French

Base pay range is CAD$70,000 - CAD$96,250 annually

Salary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.   • Identifier les possibilités de fonctionnalités supplémentaires et concevoir des solutions durables en tirant parti des technologies existantes et nouvelles.
  • Concevoir et contrôler les rapports d’indicateurs de rendement clé (IRC) pour mesurer la ponctualité du service, les dépenses de transport par rapport au budget, les frais accessoires, la conformité du guide d’acheminement et la conformité de l’acceptation des offres.
  • Diriger les révisions mensuelles des IRC avec les différentes parties prenantes.
  • Identifier les occasions d’efficacité en matière de service et de coût.
  • Analyser les nouvelles initiatives commerciales impliquant le transport, y compris les simulations de tarifs, l’analyse des dépenses et les besoins en capacité (périodes de pointe et périodes creuses).
  • Examiner le service des transporteurs et travailler avec les parties prenantes internes, les transporteurs et les clients pour déterminer les domaines dans lesquels le service peut être amélioré.
  • Maintenir le référentiel pour les accords de service. 
  • Fournir des appels d’offres aux transporteurs.
  • Créer des rapports pour assurer un processus précis de comptabilisation du fret en identifiant les problèmes tels que les transporteurs peu performants avec des problèmes vieillissants et impayés et les problèmes de marchandises d’usine et de bons reçus en suspens.

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat de préférence, idéalement en chaîne d’approvisionnement / transport / gestion des opérations / science des données / informatique / génie industriel / statistiques / apprentissage machine

Expérience

  • Capacités d’analyse nécessaires pour convertir de grandes quantités de données en un récit clair et/ou évaluer les possibilités d’amélioration des processus d’entreprise, en particulier pour un public de cadres
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication, tant écrite qu’orale Capacité à communiquer à tous les niveaux de l’organisation
  • Capacité à garder son sang-froid et une attitude positive dans un environnement difficile
  • Expérience en gestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement souhaitée
  • Expérience des systèmes logiciels de gestion des transports et des appels d’offres
  • Expérience en science des données, un atout
  • Travailler et organiser de grandes quantités de données dans des rapports significatifs
  • Expérience avec QlikView, un atout
  • Solides compétences en Microsoft Office (Excel et PowerPoint) exigées

Compétences et connaissances

  • Requis – Fortes capacités d’analyse et de présentation, expertise en MS Office (Excel et PowerPoint)
  • Préféré – Connaissance de l’analyse statistique des données, de Blue Yonder (JDA), de la science des données et de QlikView (Power BI, SQL, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Compétences en matière de développement de cadres analytiques, d’outils d’intelligence visuelle et de tableaux de bord exécutifs
