What you’ll be responsible for each day:’ 

The Operations Training Specialist  is responsible for coordinating and standardizing plant training activities to ensure employees are trained, qualified, and able to perform their work safely, consistently, and effectively. This role supports onboarding, operational capability, safety, quality, and compliance by developing training materials, maintaining training systems, assessing effectiveness, and ensuring training content remains current with plant processes and standards.

  • Assess plant learning needs and identify training gaps across departments and work areas.

  • Review job tasks and operational requirements to ensure training content reflects current processes, equipment, and expectations.

  • Develop, update, and standardize training materials for workstations, equipment, and plant processes, including One Point Lessons, visual work instructions, job aids, and video content.

  • Support trainers, supervisors, and leaders in the effective use of workplace training tools, standards, and documentation.

  • Coordinate and support training delivery in partnership with supervisors, subject matter experts, and department trainers.

  • Develop methods to assess employee understanding, qualification, and job readiness, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

  • Maintain accurate learning records, training documentation, and related materials to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Coordinate and support the onboarding and integration of new employees.

  • Develop and maintain training content related to bag fillers and other critical production equipment, including operating practices, troubleshooting, safety, quality, and food safety requirements.

  • Support the development, maintenance, and standardization of safety procedures and training standards across shifts and departments.

  • Own and maintain the plant Training Matrix, including training status, qualification criteria, refresher needs, and skill currency.

  • Support the development of clear training standards, work expectations, and job-related documentation.

  • Partner with plant leadership to support readiness for Operator Standard Work through the development of required standards and training content.

  • Support the digitization of training tools and practices, including future tablet based and on demand training solutions.

  • Monitor completion of mandatory Workday training and follow up with employees and leaders to maintain compliance.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The individual who will own this role 

  • Bachelor degree in human resources, sciences, engineering or related field

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in dairy required.

  • Experience with filler operations, SOP development, structured training materials, training matrices, and qualification systems is considered an asset.
