Role summary

The Training & Capabilities Lead plays a critical role in enabling business performance by designing, implementing, and continuously improving capability development programs across the organization. Operating within a matrix environment, this role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, HR, and Operational Excellence to translate global strategy into impactful local execution.

This position ensures that learning and development initiatives reflect global excellence standards while being tailored to country‑specific priorities, including onboarding, professional upskilling, and growth mindset development.

Role and Responsibilities

Capabilities Development

As Training & Capabilities Lead, you will own the design and execution of capability initiatives that support cross‑functional excellence. Your responsibilities include:

  • Partner with local and global teams to design tailored training, coaching, and continuous learning programs aligned with business objectives.

  • Must have at least one year of pharmaceutical experience.

  • Leverage AI‑driven tools, predictive analytics, and digital learning technologies to deliver personalized, data‑driven training and coaching solutions.

  • Promote a Growth Mindset culture across the affiliate through collaboration with HR, the General Manager, and the Operational Effectiveness Lead via workshops, training programs, and action‑learning initiatives.

  • Lead the design and rollout of country‑level capability programs across Sales and other customer‑facing functions, localizing global frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional and global capability teams to embed core competencies, conduct capability assessments, and develop targeted action plans for continuous improvement and professional growth.

  • French speaking is good to have. 

Training Strategy & Execution

  • Conduct an annual training needs analysis, aligned with product strategy, capability gaps, and upskilling requirements.

  • Develop and execute annual training plans supporting strategic business objectives, product launches, and continuous development needs.

  • Ensure all training activities comply with regulatory, ethical, and promotional standards (including applicable local health authority guidelines).

  • Design and facilitate onboarding, product training, and ongoing learning programs using a blended approach (digital, in‑person, virtual, and experiential learning).

  • Create and deliver sales and customer‑facing training programs, incorporating computer‑based learning, live workshops, coaching, and on‑the‑job training.

  • Continuously review and enhance coaching tools, ensuring tracking and reporting of training and coaching effectiveness.

  • Monitor training impact through KPIs, performance indicators, feedback loops, and business outcomes, optimizing programs based on insights.

  • Partner with stakeholders to drive training engagement, adoption, and compliance across functions.

Matrix Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary interface between the local affiliate and global/regional capability teams, ensuring strong two‑way communication and strategic alignment.

  • Collaborate with Global HR to integrate leadership development, coaching, and behavioral competencies into commercial and functional training programs.

  • Partner with local and global HR teams, business unit leaders, and functional heads to identify capability gaps and co‑create impactful, sustainable solutions.

Change Management & Culture Building

  • Support and enable cultural transformation initiatives by embedding capability development into broader change and transformation programs.

  • Champion a learning and Growth Mindset culture that fosters agility, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across Elvium.

Technology & Learning Platforms

  • Leverage global learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms to deliver scalable, engaging, and measurable learning experiences.

  • Ensure training content, data handling, and analytics comply with global standards for quality, governance, and data privacy.

  • Utilize learning data and analytics to continuously improve training effectiveness and learner experience.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in training, capability development, or commercial excellence within a matrixed organization.

  • Proven ability to design and deliver end‑to‑end learning strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Experience working across Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, and Regulatory or equivalent cross‑functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, sales capability development, and coaching methodologies.

  • Experience leveraging digital learning platforms and data‑driven insights to enhance training effectiveness.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to translate global strategy into practical, locally relevant execution.

  • Strong change management mindset and passion for culture and capability building.
