As a Test Developer - Running Shoe, you’ll dive deep into the latest running footwear, understand how they work and how to create test that can differentiate them. You will work with other test developers to create a series of test that will characterize and help our users choose the best running shoe for their need.

Your role 

  • Develop test methodology for running shoes to fully characterize their features
  • Coordinate with tech testers to verify quality and performance and extrapolate how this impact real-world usage
  • Lead investigation projects that answer questions from the running shoe community regarding performance, longevity, material, design, etc.
  • Write and publish material showcasing findings related to development of testing methodology and investigation projects
  • Other duties as assigned 

What personality we are looking for

  • You love to run and understand the performance aspects of athletic footwear; You must be able to understand, describe and differentiate running shoes
  • You enjoy researching and diving deep on how and why a product works. You enjoy sharing the fruits of your research with hobbyist communities
  • You take pride in helping others find the best products to suit their needs
  • You embrace continuous learning and stay updated on new athletic footwear
  • Your methodical approach ensures thorough and accurate development of tests and truth revealing investigations

Qualification/Experience 

  • Experience as an advanced runner and involvement in running events is a great asset
    • Advanced Runner (F):
      • 5k: <23:30min
      • 10k: <52min
      • 21k: <1h52min
    • Advanced Runner (M):
      • 5k: <20min
      • 10k: <45min
      • 21k: <1h45min

*We're open to hiring either an entry-level candidate, or one with more experience as follows:

Test developer I
Entry level position, but other levels can be achieved within two years of employment
Salary range: $70-$85K

  • You are a hobbyist for running shoes
  • You are looking to learn on how to develop test methodology and grow into Level II
  • You have basic understanding on engineering principles and their application

Test developer II
Note: Further advancement exists beyond this role
Salary range: $87-$110K

  • You are involved in running shoe hobbyist communities
  • You have developed testing methodology to characterize or check the quality of products before
  • You have relevant work experience in engineering

Senior
Salary range: $100-200K

  • You are a recognized voice in running shoes hobbyist communities
  • You are a specialist on running shoe test development, design and/or manufacturing. You have deep expertise in world of running shoes
  • You have leadership/management experience
