This position is responsible for the promotion and sale of embecta’s products for the Downtown Toronto and Northern areas of the city..  The successful candidate will focus on increasing sales via pharmacy primarily, while managing the HCP Diabetes channels including Diabetes Education Centers, Specialist, GP offices, Hospital and Pharmacy. This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager for Ontario-Manitoba and BC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve assigned quarterly and annual product line, total sales quotas and distribution goals.
  • Achieve account specific distribution and promotion goals for all products as defined by fiscal year performance standards. 
  • Plan for effective and efficient coverage of assigned customers including Pharmacies, Diabetes Education Centres, Specialist and GP offices and Hospital, through proactive territory planning and continuously updating personal knowledge of the diabetes disease state.
  • Create strong plans of action against key pharmacy and clinical accounts within territory; disseminate clinical evidence, patient resource tools and sell based on evidence and tools featuring product/patient benefits with emphasis on gaining commitment.
  • Foster strong business relationships KOLs and Key Pharmacy partners
  • Partner with other key Diabetes Healthcare companies to initiative complimentary programs/initiatives that drive business results.
  • Run Continuing Education Programs to help drive clinical messaging to the Pharmacists and related Diabetes HCP
  • Maintain up-to-date records of communication/customer commitment via Health Cloud.
  • Actively investigate and report market conditions, product acceptance/rejection and promotional activities to aid in the development of strategic marketing plans and local opportunity market programs.
  • Manage territory expenses within allocated budget and submit required reports.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree required. Science background an asset
  • Three years sales experience selling to healthcare professionals & specialists, preferably in the diabetes field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional presentation skills along with strong selling ability
  • Knowledge of the Diabetes disease state is an asset.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal & external customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, HealthCloud (salesforce.com) an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills and Self-motivated team-player.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Overnight travel required
  • Attendance and participation at various conferences and meetings
