SUMMARY
The Territory Manager will play the lead role and take ownership of the business development activity for the outdoor exterior building products for Westlake Building Products within Eastern Canada. The candidate will identify strategic growth opportunities within the region and capture new business that enhances our competitive advantage and adheres to the goals and values maintained by Westlake Royal Building Products. Candidates should reside in the greater Toronto area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for conducting safe and effective product knowledge training sessions in many different environments from jobsites to boardrooms
Ability to motivate others and effectively demonstrate confidence in yourself and the products you represent
Working with trades, remodelers, distribution, home builders, architects, designers, and other influencers within the industry
Identify qualified conversion targets and execute effective sales strategies
Effectively communicate in all requests, commitments, emails, voicemails, deadlines, presentations and requested reports
A formal competitive product review will be required semi-annually for all each brand responsible
Responsible for assisting with warranty claims as it relates to requests from the warranty department
Responsible for the submittal of a monthly highlight report outlining a summary of travel highlights, customer feedback, competitive field issues, internal issues, significant opportunities being pursued and any success stories from previous month
Interactive guided plant tours will be required of the role on an approved value-added basis
Responsible for communicating with other WRBP employees in effort to avoid potential conflicts of interest and to identify potential ways to help each other reach collective goals
Responsible for reaching and exceeding sales targets
Participate in national, regional, and local distributor trade shows, contractor days, festival events and other activities in which your representation is requested. From time to time, you will be required to attend events outside of a typical work week; this will happen 2-3 times per year
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
University of College graduate preferred
Minimum of five years’ experience in the building / construction industry
Exceptional sales competencies
Strong business acumen
Effective communication and presentation skills
Possess creative problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of SalesForce and sales related AI tools
Work autonomously but also as an enthusiastic team player
Must be fluent in English and French
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
25%-35% overnight travel
Position is home based, but candidate must live within reasonable driving distance to an international airport
Ideal candidate would reside in Ontario and preferably the Greater Toronto Area
