Job Description

Our growing Rail and Transit team is seeking a Technical/Design Manager to work with project managers and multi-disciplinary technical staff in execution of rail and transit projects. This role will get opportunities to work on projects with government agencies as well as design-build construction joint venture teams.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Provide engineering, design management and coordination working with multi-disciplinary teams on design-build and similar projects
  • Ensuring compliance with project agreement, engineering / quality standards and specifications
  • Planning and execution of work in collaboration with internal teams, clients and stakeholders fostering a positive team environment
  • Providing technical coordination between various teams during execution phases ensuring technical and schedule requirements are met
  • Participate and lead in review of comments received on submittals and work with technical disciplines on comments resolution and delivery of final packages
  • Participate in technical discussions during project meetings
  • Provide necessary due diligence and manage RFI process
  • Follow and promote Arcadis and project related health and safety practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil or related discipline
  • Registered as P.Eng in Ontario or other jurisdictions in Canada
  • ~8-10 years of experience in design management and technical coordination
  • Experience in rail and transit projects in Canada, preferably within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area
  • Experience working on design-build projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design, relevant standards, specifications and local industry practices
  • Creative and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
