Forage is a mission-driven payments company that is helping merchants accept government benefits through a single, unified API. Today, over 42 million Americans receive government assistance (ex: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP) to buy groceries.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Writer to lead documentation projects. Our technical writers don’t just transcribe tech talks. They strive to produce use case-based documents and product walkthroughs aimed at consumption by both developers and non technical end users.

Key job Responsibilities:

  • Content creation for technical documentation
  • Producing product overviews for a non-technical audience
  • Producing developer facing integration guides
  • Producing Onboarding guides

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of technical terminology
  • Ability to communicate technical instructions to a non-technical audience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to plan strategically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience documenting REST APIs and SDKs for developer tools company 
  • Experience at a Fintech API or SaaS company
  • Familiarity with: GitHub, Postman, Open API Specification, YAML, JSON, Swift, Kotlin and Kdoc-style comments 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience may be considered

Our Offer:

  • As of 9/16/2024, if we hire you in San Francisco, your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
    • Base Compensation
      • Technical Writer: $80,000 - $120,000 a year
