🌟 What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly collaborative Technical Systems Manager
who thrives on enabling others and making teams more effective. You'll design and maintain the internal systems and integrations that power our operations, evaluating build vs. buy decisions and choosing what's most pragmatic for both short and long term impact.

Working in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, the Technical Systems Manager defines and delivers on a systems roadmap that supports the needs of the business. Additionally, as a member of the Engineering team, the Technical Systems Manager plays a key role in advancing the overall technical health of the organization.

🚀 Your Key Responsibilities

Internal Systems:

  • Build and maintain integrations, managing data flow between systems
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, preferring managed solutions and SaaS integrations where practical
  • Develop new tooling to address key business use cases where third-party tools are ineffective
  • Provide technical support for improving workflows where relevant (e.g. integrating data from different sources; advanced automations)
  • Create and maintain metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerting to give teams visibility into system health, implementing engineering best practices such as automated tests, version control, and incident management

IT & Security:

  • Conduct technical evaluation and implementation of security tools
  • Develop automations to reduce the manual effort of IT and security oversight
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement security best practices and meet compliance requirements

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the org and understand workflow needs, pain points, etc
  • Translate business requirements into a technical roadmap and deliver on those needs
  • Proactively communicate project status, timelines, and blockers to stakeholders
  • Work closely with engineers, contributing to our overall technical health and best practices

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Document architecture decisions, integration patterns, and operational procedures
  • Share knowledge proactively to ensure systems can be maintained by the team
  • Contribute to team technical standards and best practices

Additional

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

🧠 What You Bring

  • Strong communicator and collaborator who excels at translating business needs into technical solutions, building relationships across technical and non-technical teams, and navigating ambiguity with clarity
  • 3+ years building internal tools, integrations, and automation with modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go)
  • Hands-on experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks) and business SaaS platforms (Zapier or similar)
  • Experience with reliable systems, databases (SQL, Postgres), and observability (monitoring, logging, alerting)
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills with attention to edge cases and failure modes
  • Proactive documenter who naturally shares context and writes things down for the team
  • Experienced with collaborative development practices (Git, shared codebases, code reviews)

👀 Bonus

  • Full-stack capabilities: build dashboards, deploy applications (Docker, cloud platforms), and maintain web interfaces
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, or working with data teams on analytics infrastructure

🎁 Benefits & Perks

  • Work remotely anywhere in Canada and/or access any of our hubs
  • Health and dental benefits from day 1
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation (including paid time off on your birthday)
  • An additional 1 week of paid time off during the winter holidays
