🌟 What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly collaborative Internal Systems Architect who thrives on owning problems end-to-end, from discovery through delivery. You’re a builder at heart who gets energy from understanding how the business works and building reliable, pragmatic solutions that make teams more effective.

You'll design, build, and maintain the internal systems and integrations that power our operations. You’re highly experienced at making pragmatic well-engineered solutions, whether that be building custom solutions or leveraging off-the-shelf tools. You're comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders to surface requirements, define scope, and drive execution without needing someone to hand you a list of requirements.

🚀 Your Key Responsibilities

Systems Design & Delivery

  • Own the full lifecycle of internal systems projects from requirements gathering and scoping through architecture, build, and delivery
  • Design and build integrations that connect our internal and third-party systems, managing data flow reliably and predictably (e.g. proper API key management, secure credential handling)
  • Develop and maintain automations that reduce manual effort across business workflows, from data integration to operational oversight
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions pragmatically, choosing what's most effective for both short and long-term impact
  • Write clean, maintainable code and make architectural decisions that balance business needs with technical sustainability

Reliability & Observability

  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards so that teams have clear visibility into system health
  • Proactively identify risks before they become incidents; own troubleshooting and follow-up improvements when they do
  • Champion engineering best practices across your work: automated testing, version control, and documentation

Stakeholder Collaboration & Roadmapping

  • Work directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand workflow needs, pain points, and priorities. Provide technical support and solutions where relevant.
  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, scoped technical plans, and partner with stakeholders to implement best practices along the way
  • Define and maintain a systems roadmap that reflects business priorities and drives meaningful impact
  • Proactively communicate project status, timelines, and blockers. Keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Document architecture decisions, integration patterns, and operational procedures thoroughly
  • Share context proactively so that systems you build can be understood and maintained by the broader team
  • Contribute to team technical standards and best practices

Additional

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

🧠 What You Bring

  • Proven track record of owning technical projects end-to-end from discovery and requirements through architecture, build, and production delivery
  • Strong communicator who can translate between business needs and technical solutions, and navigate ambiguity with confidence
  • 4–5+ years of professional software development experience whether building internal tools and integrations, SaaS products or automation systems
  • Hands-on experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks) and modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go)
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a collaborative approach to development. Writing reliable, well-tested code, contributing to code reviews and implementing best practices where applicable (observability, monitoring)

👀 Bonus

  • Experience with relational databases (SQL, Postgres) and designing data models that support reliable, maintainable systems
  • Familiarity with ecommerce platforms (Shopify) and related workflows such as order management, payments, or fulfilment
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools like Datadog building dashboards, setting up alerting, and monitoring system health

🎁 Benefits & Perks

  • Work remotely anywhere in Canada and/or access any of our hubs
  • Health and dental benefits from day 1
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation (including paid time off on your birthday)
  • An additional 1 week of paid time off during the winter holidays
  • Virtual & In-Person Social Events
  • Annual Paid Volunteer Day Off
  • 1:1 RRSP Matching Program Up to 3%
  • $500 Pre-Tax Annual Health & Wellness Allowance
  • $400 Pre-Tax Home Office Setup Allowance
  • $65 Pre-Tax Monthly Phone Allowance
  • Maternity and Parental Leave Top-Up Program
  • Education Assistance Program
  • Employee Referral Program
  • Tenured Rewards Program

Salary Band: $110-125k CAD per annum. Individual salaries will be dependent on unique skills, experience and qualifications.
