ROCKWOOL, the global leader in stone wool insulation manufacturing, is seeking a Technical Product Specialist dedicated to the technical aspects of designing, developing, and optimizing cutting-edge insulation products and applications. This role is crucial in driving our commitment to innovation and excellence by developing solutions with emphasis on enhancing fire safety, acoustic performance and comfort.  This role will be based onsite at our corporate office in Milton, ON.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conduct thorough research and manage testing programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and technical specifications.
  • Oversee product development from concept to launch, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement testing plans to validate product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and execute specific test plans focusing on areas such as fire safety, acoustics, and sustainability.
  • Analyze data to enhance product performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party testing facilities and key ROCKWOOL stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly Product Management, to align technical developments with market needs and customer expectations.
  • Provide product and application guidance to Marketing, Sales, Specifications, Factory, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Drive innovation while upholding ROCKWOOL’s commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Leverage the expertise of the ROCKWOOL Group network.
  • Participate in regular training to stay updated on products, applications, and market trends.
  • Monitor, participate in, and maintain an understanding of relevant building codes and standards, including active involvement in code and standard committees.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect, or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the building industry
  • Experience in Product Development and testing is highly desirable
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalent project management credential is a plus
  • Experience in Fire Engineering, Building Science and Performance, Acoustics or Building Codes is a strong asset
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and technical documents
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to track, manage and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual French/English or Spanish/English is a plus
