What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Infrastructure Engineering team within CIBC’s Infrastructure group. As a Technical Product Owner for Business Intelligence and Data Integration tools, you’ll be responsible for working directly with business stakeholders to deliver data products that continuously add value to the organization. This individual will be an expert in IT Infrastructure Business Intelligence and Data Integration technologies and have the ability to uncover valuable insights using both deep technical and business knowledge. You will foster ideation and impact our digital and agile transformation by enhancing our clients’ banking experience.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Product Ownership - Develop, own, and execute product roadmaps as required and translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements.  Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance to evaluate future investment.  Lead the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology.  Assist in defining the user experience for users, including support and monitoring.

  • Collaboration - Work with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.  Partner with stakeholders and users across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.

  • Agile Methodology - Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones, deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.  Prioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders. 

  • Engineering - Lead evaluation, selection, design and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options; provide comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams; provide subject matter expertise on specific existing technologies. Manage the ongoing vitality of the technology throughout its lifecycle.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years technical understanding in designing and building infrastructures for Business Intelligence and Data Integration or ETL tools such as Informatica, Cognos, PowerBI, SAS or Alteryx.

  • You  have strong experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean-Agile principles and Agile project management tools such as JIRA and / or Confluence. It is an asset if you are Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).

  • You have knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Databricks and their interactions with related SAN, Network and other Infrastructure solutions including but not limited to OS, DB, VMs and automation.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer, Engineering,  Software Engineering or a related field. 

  • You are highly analytical and have strong problem-solving skills to address complex product challenges. 

  • You have solid leadership qualities with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.

  • You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to translate business requirements into clear and detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
