We are looking for a Technical Documentation Writer. This role will focus on creating and providing training to Nautical clients and employees to ensure product adoption through documentation, instructional videos, webinars, and remote instructor-led training to individuals and teams. 


We work in a hybrid work environment, and we value in-person collaboration and will often meet in-office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Take complete ownership of our documentation (Platform and API docs), from structure to style, ensuring it meets the needs of our users and supports our product goals
  • Manage our docs-as-code setup using Docusaurus and GitHub, integrating documentation seamlessly into our development process
  • Develop high-quality content for our platform, including API references, user guides, tutorials, and release notes
  • Be a Customer UX leader and provide UX guidance to our product/engineering team in the use of our SaaS product with a focus on embedding clear step-wise customer onboarding and usage guides to maximize customer value
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, understand new features, and translate technical concepts into accessible content
  • Focus on creating user-centric content that enhances product usability, supports onboarding, and reduces customer support queries
  • Proactively identify gaps in our documentation and propose solutions to improve the overall user experience
  • Create and maintain a training portal and client content library
  • Work with cross-functional counterparts in Customer Success, Product Management, and Development to evolve, scale, and improve our customer’s experience

About You

  • 3+ years in technical writing, with at least 1+ years in a docs-as-code environment - optimally with experience in SaaS Platform products
  • A self-starter who can take full ownership of the documentation process and drive it forward independently
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub and static site generators like Docusaurus
  • Ability to develop and maintain a consistent voice and tone across all documentation, including within the product itself, with a focus on clarity, usability and UX flow
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and an understanding of API documentation best practices
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
