As the needs of the company grow, our finance team is looking for a Technical Accounting Manager. This position will provide leadership and oversight for technical accounting guidance and support to stakeholders as the subject matter expert in accounting standards and complex accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares formal accounting position papers and memos for complex, material, and/or unique accounting issues
  • Supporting and guiding business partners with the accounting and reporting implications of transactions while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies
  • Assist to operationalize financial reporting, risk management reporting and regulatory reporting requirements and needs
  • Acts as the subject matter expert in providing consultation, advice, and day-to-day guidance regarding technical accounting
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Remain current on applicable and evolving financial reporting standards and securities and regulatory requirements and developing accounting/business issues
  • Participate in preparation of internal and external financial statements
  • Liaison with external auditors during the annual audit and quarterly reviews as required
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional peers
  • Contribute to building the technical infrastructure and control environment to support the company’s hyper-growth
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong collaboration and organization skills
  • Must be detail oriented with an analytical mindset
  • Highly motivated and a strong desire to take initiative and learn
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to articulate and present memos to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision, multi-tasking to establish priorities, and completing objectives without supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset
  • Experience working with media and/or technology companies is preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including the use of computers.
