JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented senior lead, who will work with a team responsible for the day today operational processes and ensure the integrity of our Book of Records along with financial and operational controls are in place. This role is a posted as a Hybrid Role to be filled. Our firm is undergoing an exciting transformation, and this role will play a key part in the structural change we are looking to implement. This individual will be part of a team of 3-5 staff, and oversee the daily settlements and all balancing with other department's within the firm, and our business partners. This provides a great opportunity for the candidate to work hand in hand and be able to contribute to the overall success of our firm.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist Director to Lead team of 3-5 settlements administrators and provide guidance, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Ensure all settlements for client accounts are executed daily, including transactions and positions across books, and counterparties.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to minimize risk and ensure operational accuracy.
- Monitor Team and assist with any outstanding breaks, and/or escalating issues when necessary.
- Monitoring trends and working with internal and external stakeholders to address the underlying root causes.
- Establish and maintain a sound control framework to support the settlement process and mitigate risk.
- Regularly review processes to identify and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management, to monitor team performance and process efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Accounting experience, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in settlements, financial operations, or a similar function within financial services.
- Strong understanding of settlement processes and operational controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Canadian Securities Course, IFIC, PFP and other industry courses would be an asset.
