Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for research and analysis of various federal income tax issues, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, timing issues and accounting methods, digital assets, and other matters
  • Assist with federal tax controversy matters
  • Draft emails and memorandums
  • Draft Firm-wide alerts on current developments in federal income tax


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 + years of progressive federal income tax consulting experience (large law firm, large accounting firm, industry experience or IRS preferred)
  • CPA or J.D.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with partnerships, S corporations, and/or C corporations
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Strong proficiency with tax research databases (such as Bloomberg BNA and RIA Checkpoint)
  • Strong proficiency with federal tax controversy matters

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $87,000 to $145,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
