We’re looking for a Talent Operations Specialist to join our People & Performance team and continue to build out the operational engine that powers how we hire at Halter.

We fundamentally believe that the speed, quality, and experience of our hiring is one of the biggest drivers of company success. This role ensures that the engine runs seamlessly, from candidate logistics and compliance through to data, and automation.

As we scale rapidly globally, the complexity of hiring increases. This role is critical in ensuring we remain efficient, compliant, and operationally excellent, while delivering a world-class candidate experience.

This role can be based in either our Auckland, Boulder or Melbourne office. We’re office-first, because we believe proximity accelerates learning, decision-making, and impact.

About the Role

As a key member of the People & Performance team, you’ll own the end-to-end operations of the hiring function.

Reporting to the Head of Talent, you’ll be responsible for everything that sits behind great hiring - process, compliance, logistics, and data integrity. You’ll work closely with Talent Partners, People Ops, and hiring leaders to ensure hiring runs smoothly at scale. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building structure in fast-moving environments, loves optimising process, and is motivated by creating leverage through automation and process excellence.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • You will own the end-to-end candidate experience and hiring operations, ensuring a seamless, high-quality journey from initial engagement through to onsite logistics and events. This includes managing candidate communications, coordinating travel, and supporting key hiring initiatives that reflect the calibre and ambition of Halter.

  • You’ll be responsible for compliance and audit readiness across the hiring lifecycle, including immigration, background checks, and right-to-work requirements. Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready records will be critical to ensuring we operate with rigour as we scale.

  • You will act as the owner of our hiring process and data, ensuring strong ATS hygiene, reliable reporting, and clear visibility on hiring performance. Beyond reporting, you’ll translate data into actionable insights, supporting workforce planning, forecasting, and helping teams understand progress, risk, and what’s achievable.

  • A key part of the role is driving operational excellence at scale — identifying opportunities to streamline processes, implement automation, and leverage AI to increase efficiency. You’ll also own our hiring tech stack and vendor relationships, ensuring tools and partners are effective, scalable, and delivering strong value.

  • You’ll support and evolve core hiring programs and infrastructure, including referrals, employer brand touchpoints, and internal mobility. This includes maintaining strong data integrity in partnership with People Ops, and ensuring fair, consistent processes across the business.
Finally, you will build and maintain scalable hiring playbooks and governance frameworks, creating clear, repeatable ways of working that enable consistency, quality, and speed as Halter continues to grow.

What Success Looks Like

  • Candidates have a seamless, high-quality experience, regardless of location

  • Our systems are clean, reliable, and provide real-time insight

  • Compliance risks are proactively managed, no surprises

  • Hiring teams move faster because operations are frictionless

  • We leverage automation and AI to scale efficiently without increasing complexity

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in Talent Operations, Recruiting Operations, or People Operations

  • Strong experience with ATS systems (Ashby experience highly preferred)

  • High attention to detail, you care deeply about data integrity and process quality

  • Experience managing compliance, immigration, or audit processes is a strong plus

  • Strong operational mindset with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and continuous improvement

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership

Why this role matters

This role is the difference between hiring that works and hiring that scales. You’ll build the systems, processes, and foundations that allow us to grow quickly without compromising on quality, experience, or compliance.
