Job Summary:This role will be responsible for delivering exceptional employee experience by designing, developing and implementing talent management systems and programs that support Talent Identification, Succession Planning, Performance Management, talent plans and change management at all levels within the organization.
This is a temporary fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto, ON office.
Responsibilities:
- Leads in the implementation, delivery and maintenance of the Performance Management and Succession Planning modules in Workday and manages the associated metrics in support of the reporting needs of the business.
- Manages and executes on the implementation, rollout, and management of global talent management programs, from beginning to end - including communications, systems and processes, program management, coordination of training venues (virtual/in-person) etc.
- In collaboration with the manager, they will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of talent management strategies that focus on building technical and leadership strength as well as an employee-oriented and high-performance culture.
- Responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining an integrated approach to talent management, including the talent management infrastructure and framework to support the organization.
- Builds strong change management approaches and plans relating to all Talent Management program changes and enhancements.
- Builds relationships with top talent and key successors to ensure understanding of development goals, career aspirations, and mobility preferences.
- Works closely with managers to ensure that employees have the right skills to meet the strategic challenges of the organization.
- Builds and maintains working relationships with external network of HR leaders, Talent Management practitioners, and vendors.
- Designs talent development programs, including formal development, on-the-job/action learning, mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
- Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of talent management systems, programs, and processes to identify gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Works closely with the HRBPs to support succession planning, talent identification, performance management, workforce planning and career development.
- Stays up to date on talent management research, trends, and best practices in and outside of the organization to respond to strategic needs, challenges in our industries and competitive environment, and shifts in demographics and employee expectations.
- Works alongside the Talent & Development team to produce reports, presentations, and materials as required for all talent management initiatives.
- Supports in the implementation of Change Management initiatives aligned with the organization’s strategy.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field (e.g., Human Resources) is preferred; professional designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) is a plus.
- Post-graduate work in organizational development, change management, talent development, and employee experience is preferred.
- 5-10 years of HR experience, including Talent Development and/or Talent Management, Leadership Development, Performance Management, workforce planning, and designing/implementing/managing multiple complex projects.
- 3-5 years relevant experience, supporting a diverse range of client needs, implementing talent strategies, facilitating program rollouts, answering questions and concerns, while listening to leaders and employee concerns, and influencing acceleration of performance and engagement.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of the Workday, or similar, Talent Management module.
- Experience in the administration of talent management/assessment tools.
- Practical and comprehensive knowledge of talent management trends, tools, and systems.
- Ability to deliver value in a fast-paced environment, while balancing competing priorities and maintaining relationships.
- Strong relationship building, collaboration, and partnering abilities, focused on understanding needs, fostering engagement and buy-in for talent management programs, and delivering results.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
