Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Developer to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Tableau, SQL, and experience in creating interactive dashboards with multiple drill-down capabilities. Candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $115k - CAD $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.
  • Create dashboards with multiple drill-downs to provide comprehensive insights into data.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating data sources and performing quality checks.
  • Optimize Tableau dashboards for performance and usability, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau functionalities and best practices.
  • Document processes, data sources, and dashboard specifications for future reference and compliance.
  • Stay current with Tableau updates and industry trends to leverage new features and capabilities.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Experience needed 10+ Years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of dashboards.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
  • Experience in creating dashboards with advanced features, including filters, parameters, and calculated fields.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, QlikView) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis is an advantage.
  • Experience in a cloud-based BI environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
