About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Supply Chain Manager to join our Operations team based in Kentford, Newmarket. Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for managing supplier and subcontractor performance across the business, driving cost efficiencies, improving commercial agreements and introducing greater structure and control throughout the supply chain.

Working closely with operational teams, you will help improve procurement decisions, strengthen supplier relationships and deliver measurable cost savings while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and service delivery. This role operates across the full business and both brands, supporting long-term margin improvement and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage the performance of existing suppliers and subcontractors across the business
  • Negotiate improved pricing, discounts, rebates and commercial agreements
  • Develop and maintain preferred supplier and subcontractor frameworks
  • Consolidate spend and reduce duplication across the supply chain
  • Introduce and manage supplier and subcontractor onboarding processes
  • Establish, monitor and report on supplier and subcontractor KPIs
  • Monitor supplier pricing and challenge increases where appropriate
  • Work with operational teams to support commercially effective procurement decisions
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing schedules and performance data
  • Produce management reports on expenditure, supplier performance, cost savings and improvement opportunities
  • Identify new suppliers and subcontractors to improve capability, competitiveness and resilience within the supply chain
  • Ensure suppliers meet required compliance, health and safety, insurance and accreditation standards

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Previous experience managing suppliers and subcontractors within a service, construction or related environment
  • Strong commercial negotiation and procurement skills
  • Demonstrable experience delivering measurable cost savings
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and margin improvement
  • Experience establishing supplier performance measures and KPI frameworks
  • Ability to challenge and influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience introducing process improvements and structure into supply chain activities
  • Strong organisational, analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a commercially driven individual who enjoys building strong supplier relationships while delivering tangible business improvements. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and confident working across multiple stakeholder groups.

You will be comfortable negotiating commercial agreements, analysing performance data and implementing processes that improve efficiency, quality and cost control. A practical and hands-on approach, combined with strong commercial awareness, will be key to success in this role.

  • 25 days holiday, increasing to 26 days after 3 years' service and 28 days after 5 years' service
