Operations Supervisor

Location: Fort Frances, ON, Thunder Bay, ON
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Operations is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. This role involves supervising staff, monitoring performance, and supporting the delivery of high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure operational excellence.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as on-time departures, route compliance, and incident reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports and daily records.
  • Assist with dispatching as needed and reconcile previous day deposits.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service issues promptly.
  • Support additional tasks such as road checks, routing, training, payroll, and administrative duties.
  • Participate in driver hiring and onboarding in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications

  • Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Proven experience managing people and supervising operations.
  • Experience in the transportation industry is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and scheduling tools
  • Previous experience in transit or related industries is an asset.
