Company Description
The Accounting & Expansion Supervisor will be a member of the RBCD finance team based out of the Toronto Office. You will be responsible to support our various growth initiatives of our customer base through the support & coordination with the National Account Managers, RBCD Field team, SSC Denver team and 3RD parties. You will also be responsible to support day to day tasks of the RBCD accounting team related to AR, Sub-Distributors, reconciliations, journal entries and act as the backup support to the Accounting Manager. Lastly, you will also support the department as a key member on various initiatives and projects (automation, treasury, etc.) that are in the pipeline.
Job Description
CUSTOMER EXPANSION INITIATIVES (RBCD) (~65%)
Coordinate new account setup with National Account Managers, RBCD field team and SSC Denver team and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. 3rd parties).
Ensure that during the setup process, all key components that can impact customer service, accounting and AR are identified such as; Master data setup and customer mapping, EDI setup, requirement, configuration and testing as applicable, Invoicing process, Authorized Material and any unique requirements based on the customer’s requirements.
Ensuring that all end-to-end processes are working as expected, post customer onboarding.
Proactively anticipate & subsequently address any issues that may arise for new & existing customers with the relevant team(s).
Support any treasury initiatives that will help improve collections, reduce DSO, and streamline our treasury processes.
GENERAL ACCOUNTING (RBCD) (~25%):
Handle inquiries from field staff, vendors, and third-party partners by investigating and interpreting data if needed.
Perform selected monthly Account Reconciliation (including the bank reconciliation on a weekly basis).
Support & manage new CPM process regarding Off Premise Agreements
Prepare and Post Monthly Journal Vouchers in SAP (permanent, accruals).
Maintain records and files including master data.
Assisting with the Month End Close procedures.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
Provide support to the team with all audits.
Ad Hoc tasks as needed.
AR MANAGEMENT (CUSTOMERS AND SUB DISTRIBUTORS) (RBCD) (~10%)
Ensure data accuracy in the system related to customer profiles, terms, classification, and other details by performing a monthly review and making corrections as needed.
Ensure all invoices related to customers and distributors are collected in line with the credit terms.
Regular follow up to ensure collection on overdue invoices.
Making sure that the KPIs assigned are met or exceeded.
Support the Accounting Manager in various projects and preparation of regular and ad hoc reports.
Develop strong relationship and partnership with internal partners and customers / sub distributors.
Co-ordinate and present financial status with sub distributors at recurring intervals (eg quarterly).
Support Denver SSC in terms of AR/Collections, credit control, and Master Data.
Follow up regularly on all deductions and overdue invoices & then file claims as needed & conclude closure of overdue invoices.
Qualifications
5+ years' work experience in establishing effective and efficient processes, full cycle accounting and preferably AR experience.
People management / supervisor experience is preferable.
Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines.
Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS excel, MS Word, PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of System Applications noted below.
Experience with High Radius (HRC)/SAP/S4/BI is an asset.
CPA or working towards the designation.
