OUR SUMMER SQUAD
Applications are open to current post-secondary students and recent graduates. This is a great opportunity for a current design student seeking an accredited internship as a requirement to graduate. This is a summer contract that will give you valuable exposure and skill-building opportunities within several of our departments. Salt XC’s Summer Squad will consist of a 4-month long contract, full-time hours, from May to August 2026, with the opportunity for a contract extension beyond this date.
Over the duration of the program, you can expect opportunities to network, meet Salters across other departments, participate in additional Learning & Development Opportunities, and receive mentorship from those currently in their desired field. This is currently a Hybrid work opportunity with 2-3 days in office required at our Salt Toronto Head Office.
ROLE OVERVIEW
SALT XC is seeking a Media Intern to support the Media team across planning, execution, and performance analysis of integrated media programs. This role offers hands-on exposure to both online and offline media while building foundational skills in media strategy, platforms, and measurement.
As a Media Intern, you’ll work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, supporting campaign execution, reporting, and optimization while learning Salt’s media tools, processes, and technology stack. This role is ideal for someone curious, analytical, and eager to learn how media drives results across the full funnel.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Planning, Buying & Investment Management
- Support media planning and buying activities by assisting with research, setup, and execution tasks.
- Help track media placements, budgets, and delivery to ensure accuracy and alignment with plans.
Integrated Media Strategy & Full-Funnel Planning
- Review briefs and media plans to understand objectives, audiences, and channel roles.
- Support the development of integrated media programs by assisting with planning materials and documentation.
Measurement, Analytics & Insight Development
- Assist with campaign reporting by gathering data, updating trackers, and supporting performance summaries.
- Help identify basic trends or insights across campaigns under guidance from the Media team.
Media Tools, Platforms & Technology Fluency
- Support campaign setup and management across media platforms and tools following established processes.
- Build familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, paid social platforms, and ad managers (experience a bonus).
Performance Optimization, Testing & Automation
- Assist with monitoring campaign performance and flagging anomalies or optimization opportunities.
- Support basic testing or optimization tasks as directed by senior Media team members.
Channel & Audience Strategy & Data Application
- Help research audiences, channels, and competitive activity to support planning and optimization.
- Apply data and insights to assigned tasks, ensuring outputs align with target audience and channel strategy.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Organized with the ability to multi-task if required
- High level of efficiency and accuracy
- Strong foundational technology skills – familiarity with O365, social & digital media
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated creative and innovative thinker, who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done
- Organized and pays high attention to detail
