Job Description

Reporting into the Procurement Director, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will support the execution of AIM's procurement strategies by providing business solutions, primarily focused on activities related to AIM’s construction and engineering group, and other categories as assigned by utilizing total cost of ownership principles.

What you're responsible for:

· Developing, communicating and contributing to the procurement group's initiatives with internal stakeholders by achieving or exceeding targets which directly correlates to profit enhancing outcomes.

· All procurement activities related to construction and engineering projects in Ontario and Northern USA. Other categories as assigned within this geographical territory.

· Working alongside construction, engineering, operations and corporate functions to build scope, and gain alignment on project expectations ensuring timeline and budget are met.

· Sourcing qualified vendors and putting bids out for tender to the vendor community in a professional, and concise manner.

· Tracking and analyzing bids, scored on an array of project criteria ensuring good outcomes.

· Developing, contributing and implementing short- and medium-term plans and targets in partnership with the global procurement team and internal stakeholders.

· Ensuring internal stakeholder needs are consistently met or exceed with a strong emphasis on forward planning by proactively building constructive, respectful and positive relations.

· Proposing and justifying commercial benefit initiatives in new capital, sustaining capital, maintenance program and operational spending by providing detailed and compelling business cases.

· Delivering benefits by leveraging contract opportunities and supplier capabilities.

· Proactively implementing strategic initiatives to better service stakeholders by enhancing profitability, reliability and customer service.

· Sourcing, PO Issuance, expediting and coordinating with AP to ensure materials are ordered, received and paid for on time.

Qualifications

To join our team:

· Must exhibit PASSION for your work.

· University degree focused on business commerce or 5 years of progressive procurement experience.

· NISCL / CSCMP designation is a plus.

· Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders and business partners.

· Must work effectively within a team and have the ability to influence operational stakeholders.

· You have a proven track record of improving processes and increasing efficiency while demonstrating a commitment to health and safety.

· Must carry a valid passport with no restrictions to travel to the USA and be willing to travel as needed to complete your duties.
