Job Opportunity
SWTCH is seeking a Strategic Bid & Proposal Analyst to join our growing team! Working in a collaborative environment, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing bid opportunities, preparing competitive bids, and supporting the organization's bid management process across North America (Canada and the US).
Responsibilities
Bid Opportunity Identification and Assessment
- Analyze bid invitations, requests for proposals (RFPs), and other relevant solicitations to understand project requirements, scope, and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities associated with each bid opportunity.
- Prepare and present bid-related documentation, including executive summaries, bid outlines, project plans, and other supporting materials.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, operations, and finance teams, to gather necessary information for bid evaluation.
Bid Preparation and Strategy
- Support in developing a comprehensive bid response strategy, including pricing models, technical solutions, and value propositions, to maximize the chances of winning the bid.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and insights for bid preparation, ensuring that all relevant information is incorporated into the bid proposal.
- Review and interpret bid requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications, and tailor the proposal to address client needs effectively.
- Take ownership of the bid response, including compliance with all pre-bid requirements such as vendor registration or other deadlines; compiling relevant information and content from cross-functional teams to submit a fully responsive proposal; and ensuring timely completion and submission of all deliverables.
Bid Management and Coordination
- Support managing the ongoing bid management process, ensuring that all reporting and other deadlines are met, and all required documents and deliverables are submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather the necessary information and ensure a smooth flow of communication throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Maintain a centralized repository of bid-related information, including templates, past proposals, pricing data, and competitor analysis, for future reference and continuous improvement. (Loopio)
Bid Pricing
- Strategic Pricing Analysis: Develop and maintain pricing models in Excel for both hardware products and SaaS offerings, ensuring competitive positioning and margin health.
- Commercial Pressure Testing: Rigorously audit and "stress test" pricing assumptions for hardware selections (COGS, logistics, tariff impacts) and software (subscription tiers, discounting logic) to identify financial risks.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing analysis of competitor pricing and industry benchmarks to inform our bidding strategy and help win market share.
Requirements
- Adaptable self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem solving and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including collaborating with product, sales, marketing, and operations teams.
- Reside in Canada.
- Proven Experience working in strategic bid analysis within the EV or clean energy industry.
- Mastery of advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Index/Match, and financial modeling) is essential
- Detail oriented and able to review and catch inconsistencies in massive datasets or lengthy legal/technical requirements within RFP documents.
- Preference for experience working with or at non-profit community driven organizations.
- Preference for experience working with or familiarity with municipal or local governments.
- Comprehensive writing skills.
