About the team + role
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Ops Platform team at Robinhood, you'll be part of the team that builds tools and automations that power Robinhood’s operational capabilities across the entire organization. By collaborating with a diverse range of operational teams, including Fraud Operations, Account Operations, and FinCrimes Operations, we create centralized case management platform, and solutions that enable operational efficiency by automating manual tasks.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
As the Tech Lead for Case Management, you will act as a technical leader, mentor, problem solver and coder to all engineering/product groups.
- Work with Engineering Manager, Product Manager and Operational teams across the company to build a roadmap for Case Management
- Mentor junior developers on the team and lead projects of large complexity
- Be hands on with designing and writing code. Lead the design and implementation for a scalable, unified case management system that simplifies and accelerates issue resolution for all operational teams at Robinhood.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, team processes, and reduce risks
- Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to assist operational teams in triaging cases, improving accuracy, and reducing turnaround time.
- Identify and automate high-impact manual workflows within operational teams, minimizing errors and freeing up resources for more strategic tasks.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product launches across Robinhood’s lines of business, including Brokerage, Crypto, Gold, Futures etc.
About you:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years technically leading large engineering organizations with multiple teams
- Strong technical judgment and expertise with a focus on reliability, scalability, and correctness
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and influence skills
- Strong partnership and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to quickly learn complicated business domains in a highly regulated space
- Experience with teams that work in a highly-collaborative fashion and focus on optimizing for customer value
What you bring
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years experience designing and implementing large scale distributed systems that involve large amount of data
- Be able to take open ended problems, work with a large number of cross functional parters to scope and estimate them
- Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team.
- Strong technical grasp with excellent judgment on task prioritizations.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and lead the team technically on new initiatives and system improvements
- Expertise in Python/Go is good to have, but not mandatory.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
