Summary

We are looking to hire a Tax Analyst to join our Tax team of experienced tax professionals. As a Tax Analyst you will be responsible for ensuring BlackBerry remains compliant with tax legislation in the jurisdictions in which we operate. Crucially, you will provide influential customer service-focused support to internal stakeholder groups enabling business decisions that maximize enterprise value across various regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with preparation of financial reporting involving quarterly and year end US tax provisions, continuities, financial statement notes, journal entries and answering questions from financial statement auditors.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of the US federal and state income tax returns for BlackBerry’s US companies.  Including related installment calculations, extension filings and related journal entries.
  • Assist the Senior Tax Manager with researching and monitor US tax laws and changes impacting BlackBerry’s US operations.
  • Prepare and coordinate the filings of annual 1099s, 1042s, W9s and W8BENs working with other members of the finance organization.
  • Coordinate all US tax mail and notices
  • Assist with income tax audits under the direction of the Senior Tax Manager. Assist with communications with our third-party providers during tax audits. Coordinate the review of all Company documents requested by auditors prior to being released to ensure that the Company is releasing the correct information required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred).
  • 2 - 4 years of US tax analytical experience preferred.
  • Desire to take on new and challenging tasks
  • Ability to analyze financial information from multiple sources, question the validity of data, and perform detailed tax research.
  • Strong personal computer skills in addition to extensive knowledge of Excel to analyze large quantities of data from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of OneSource tax software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with Net Suite software is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to serve as a resource to departmental staff members, review Company correspondence and communication, detail tax issues and respond to questions from internal business teams within the Company.
